Saturday, June 19, 2004, Explorers Club Angel Island photos

The annual Explorers Club picnic took place on Saturday, 19 June, at Angel Island. It started around 10:00 am, and went until about 3:00 pm, and included all the pleasantries of Angel Island, including hiking, barbequing, good conversation and just plain lazing in the beautiful natural surroundings of this historic place.

Many of us went to Berkeley to hitch a ride on Bob Schmieder's Cordell Explorer, leaving at 9:00 AM from the Berkeley Marina. Others went with Rick and Aldeana who came on their trawler from San Rafael.

We thank Chapter Treasurer Anders Jepsen for getting this all off the ground. It was our last event of the lecture year before we break for the field season. Have a safe summer and check back here for the schedule for the 2004-2005 lecture year.
